Newitt

This was my first real photo shoot with real live people.  I was so happy to be able to take some shots of my sister Annie and then fiancee (now husband), Jeff.  We took these shots only steps away from their apartment in Redondo Beach, California during my trip to visit at Thanksgiving, 2009.  After a few wardrobe changes, the wind, and the ever present tide; we got some really great shots that captured their love.  Here are a few of my favorites.

This one isn't the clearest shot, but I love the reflection and that they're walking in stride.

My personal favorite

Oxcart

It's crazy that something as simple as an oxcart can inspire.   On a recent trip to Costa Rica, I visited the Hacienda Guachepelin near Rincon de la Vieja.  While there, there was this traditional oxcart on display with two oxen attached.  Visitors to the ranch were allowed to climb upon the oxen to take pictures, my travel companions and I refrained.  Instead I took advantage of getting some close up shots of the colorful wheel and the marvelous animal that was attached to it.  I was so drawn to the animal and the colors on the cart. I didn't take any shots of the cart and oxen in its entirety, I was only interested in close ups.  These photos have not been cropped or enhanced, they are in their original raw form.  I was so happy to see more of the amazing culture of Costa Rica on my 2011 trip and to spend a few moments in the majestic presence of this animal and her cart.
